1757 August 7 (Sunday). Sorrowful Tidings! That the French and Indians have shot, and carryed off prisoners, nigh 300 Men, who were a scout from one of our upper Forts; and that a great Army were coming to beset Fort William Henry. I read 2 K. 24. Preached a. and p.m. on Ps. 119.126 and finished what I had to say on that subject. P.M. read Mark 16.
