1775 January 7 (Saturday). My Son Breck returned from Boston just after Midnight. And Samuel came before night from Boston.

Why Don’t the Days Listed in the Diary Entries before Sept. 15, 1752 Correspond to the Days on the Calendar above?

In 1752, Great Britain and the American colonies switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, which we use today in a slightly updated form.
