The Diary of Rev. Ebenezer Parkman

Day: November 22, 1757

November 22, 1757

1757 November 22 (Tuesday).  Thomas, and a Number more, ride to Brookfield to Ordination.  I visit old Mr. Samuel Fay.  N.B. Mrs. Miller was at my House; Seems to be a Woman of much Sorrow — very much on Account of her Children.  I visited Capt. Woods Wife whose Leg is sore again and confines her from public Worship.

Why Don’t the Days Listed in the Diary Entries before Sept. 15, 1752 Correspond to the Days on the Calendar above?

In 1752, Great Britain and the American colonies switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, which we use today in a slightly updated form.
