And Seeing it cleared away p.m., I Sent again for his Father and Mother; who came and Supped here. In the Eve Mr. Francis Whipple and his Wife came to see us; which would have been very acceptable to me, but that it was a means (together with the French people’s being here) of the Delay of our Evening Exercise to an unfit Lateness.
