1775 June 9 (Friday). I have read the Memoirs of Capt. Roger Clap of Dorchester,[1] and who was for some time Captain of Castle William. A memorable Example of primitive Piety. Might such a spirit be reviv’d in this degenerate Age! Wrote to Mr. Moore after long Silence, and Sent it to Grafton for Conveyance.
