The Diary of Rev. Ebenezer Parkman

Day: November 30, 1777

November 30, 1777

1777 November 30 (Sunday).  Preached a.m. from Ps. 73.28 but carryed on the Subject from Mat. 17.4.  Administered the Lords supper.  P.M. repeated sermon on Heb. 12.28 and finished it.  A Dark Day, as to the Weather — but Darker as to Attendance, there being but few at Meeting, or at Communion.

Why Don’t the Days Listed in the Diary Entries before Sept. 15, 1752 Correspond to the Days on the Calendar above?

In 1752, Great Britain and the American colonies switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, which we use today in a slightly updated form.
