I was not very well in the Morning, But Mr. Smith came from Marlborough to preach for me, yet with this proviso that I would go and preach for Mr. Prentice of Grafton who was ill. I undertook it, but could not perform with Life and Vigour. A.M. I preach’d on Ps. 73.24. P.M. on 2 Pet. 1.10. At Eve there was So great likelihood of Storm of Rain that I rode home being oblig’d to preach the next Day. Mr. Smith went to Marlborough before I got home.
