The Diary of Rev. Ebenezer Parkman

Day: February 26, 1779

February 26, 1779

1779 February 26 (Friday).  Ebenezer leaves us to go to Watertown and Boston.  I send by him to Mr. David Sawyer at Framingham: Breck sends quantity of money by him to his brother Samuel.  Joseph Grout Junior is examined in order to his joining in full Communion with the Church, and I consent.

Why Don’t the Days Listed in the Diary Entries before Sept. 15, 1752 Correspond to the Days on the Calendar above?

In 1752, Great Britain and the American colonies switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, which we use today in a slightly updated form.
