Nigh noon set out for Hopkinton (though a Cold Day for the season) yet the sun had such Power that the Waters flowed by Reason of the last nights Rains, and the wasting snow, to a very great Degree. Brother Barrett very lame, but somewhat better. First Saw young Mr. Barretts new wife. Dined there, though late. Returned at Eve. N.B. Miss Lydia Bowman with me part of the way. Very Cold riding home.
