Day: April 28, 1779

April 28, 1779

1779 April 28 (Wednesday).  The Sheep were so disorderly I was forced to go to my Friend, Squire Baker, to request him, again to take the Sheep to pasture, and to assist me in getting my young Cattle to Brookfield, both which he consents to.

Why Do the Days Listed in the Diary Entries before Sept. 15, 1752 Not Correspond to the Days on the Calendar?

In 1752, Great Britain and the American colonies switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, which we use today in a slightly updated form.
