February 28, 1770

1770 February 28 (Wednesday).  Dr. Hawes brought home my Sleigh, partly new built, from Mr. Whipples.  I rode in it to Mr. Timothy Warrins junior to have him compleat it and strengthen it.  Called at Dr. Hawes, where Mrs. P______ was visiting.  Mr. Thaddeus Warrin builds me a Goose House p.m.

Why Do the Days Listed in the Diary Entries before Sept. 15, 1752 Not Correspond to the Days on the Calendar?

In 1752, Great Britain and the American colonies switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, which we use today in a slightly updated form.
