1742 April 22 (Thursday). I had sent to Mr. Stone and to Mr. Cushing fruitlessly, to assist me. I Sent a verbal Message to Mr. Burr[1] and though it was a rainy Day he came and preached my Lecture: a good usefull Sermon on Rom. 10, part of the 14 and 15 verses and the 17th, against Exhorters among the people etc.: with a moving Application.
