1724 August 6 (Thursday). I rode round to Boston but did not get there till Lecture was over. The News was Malden Emerson’s House was Burnt last Friday Night. Four Men taken at Rutland, 3 kill’d and one Captur’d. There was one more wounded. I rode up to Cambridge to Night though it rain’d all the way.
